How Omega-3 Fatty Acids Prevent Chronic Diseases Including Inflammatory Heart Disease.
It is by now an established fact that at the core of most chronic diseases ravaging the population, including inflammatory heart disease, is a phenomenon called inflammation.
Now heads up reader, have you really ever seen the wind?? Inflammation is silent in so far as you do not see it, not initially, but you get to see what it does. And in the case of the wind, you never see it at all, you only see what it does.
In the American Journal of Epidemiology, Tufts University reports a study, the Framingham Offspring Study, whose conclusion indicated that natural foods rich in natural vitamin K guard against inflammation and thus reduce your vulnerability and risk to disease.
Such foods include Olive-oil, a staple at the homesteads of all your authors at this site, leafy green vegetables, asparagus, tomatoes, broccoli and avocado just to name a few. Ginger, vitamin C at higher dosages than the RDA, have anti-inflammatory effects on your arteries.
And from the Harvard Medical School, we learn from faculty member Andrew Stoll, that omega-3 fatty acids have numerous biological roles, because they are a primary element of health for virtually every cell and organ system in your body. Along with their partners, the omega-6’s, they keep the body human in balance, modulating such basic physiological functions as inflammation, cell-signaling, blood pressure, immune response and the electrical excitability of heart and brain cells.
Talking of electrical function in the body human is of tremendous interest to some of us at this site, having attended lectures by a very brilliant research-scientist Robert O. Becker, M.D., author of the book , The Body Electric. He lost his tenure at a major university because he revealed information, from his research, to the public that “authorities” did not want the public to know. Yes you can get the book at the Alexandria bookstore and or at the Bodhi Tree bookstore, both in west Los Angeles. There is a tiny bit of heart disease lecture notes therein and a lot more.
Origins of Inflammation.
You may have speculated correctly that nutrition has a lot to do with it. The reason being that the body human does not make any omega-3 fatty acids, they have to be derived from the foods that you eat, ditto for what is known as the essential amino-acids.
It needs to be made abundantly clear that there is an associated omega-6 fatty acids with the omega-3 fatty acids, and the body human needs both provided they are in a balanced ratio as nature intended.
However a major very worrisome and creeping problem has been rising over a number of decades, namely the wide use as food of hydrogenated oils, processed and denatured foods, the partaking of so called grain-fed beef and artificially raised fish. Those have combined to supply your body with an extremely high and unnatural ratio of omega-6’s to omega-3 fatty acids on the order of 19 to 1. The natural ratio is 0.17 to 1, do you see the difference.
You are what you eat and drink in essence.
And the North American food supply no longer has sufficient levels of natural omega-3’s, which is food that prevents inflammatory heart disease and most chronic diseases. It is now severely deficient and instead we are consuming dangerously high levels of omega-6. One wonders if that is a befitting mission statement for heart disease.
In brief, cows have two stomachs and were meant by nature to feed on grass. Feeding them grains dramatically alters their physiology and those changes are passed on to you via beef and milk, no wonder the cattle are sick alomost all the time. Likewise for the artificially raised fish, fed grain pellets and additives. Infact such salmon are injected with a dye to make their flesh resemble that of salmon from the wild, and their omega-3 supply is way down the pits-not a good fish oil+heart disease.
(Please do take very careful note that cultures that eat meat from grass-fed cattle do not have a single case of heart disease Somewhere in the Virginias, mainland USA, is a terrific organic farm called Polyface Farm that can supply the very best quality grass-fed beef.)
One of the omega-6 fatty acids known as arachidonic acid is higly inflammatory. What has happened is that because of the unnatural very high abundance of omega-6’s now in your body, the relevant conversion enzymes-the enzymes that convert the fatty acids, are obviously going to produce a lot of the arachidonic acid that is inflammatory(inflammatory compounds) and very little of the protective anti-inflammatory compounds from the omega-3 fatty acids.
What is inflammation?
Simply put, an injury to the body, a major imbalance or an invasion by pathogens irritates the body tissues causing an inflammation response as the body engages it’s defence mechanisms to the scene. Given the modern typical North American diet, this happens so repeatedly that white blood cells can end up damaging the tissue. If the supply of omega-3’s is low then inflammation has a free rein, opening the body to risks of a variety of dangerous ill-health effects.
The list of health threats is very intimidating indeed, such as heart disease, kidney disease, depression, cancers, arthritis, allergies, periodontal disease, lupus, inflammatory bowel syndrome, atherosclerosis, skin disorders, osteoporosis, macular degeneration, inflammatory heart disease etc etc.
Benefits of omega-3 fatty acids.
Once again from Harvard University, Dr. Alex Leaf points out that foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids can stop arrhythimia before it triggers sudden death from heart attacks. This author wishes to add that, that ought to be heard loud and clear in improving clinical practice in heart disease care. And here is an excellent source for your DHA Fish Oil - Best & Pure Omega-3’s guaranteed to reverse and prevent inflammatory heart disease.
A clinical study published in both the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and the British Journal of Nutrition, found that in a group of 1,700 men and women, over a four year study, the sub-group that received the highest levels of natural omega-3 fatty acids, achieved the highest bone mineral and bone density, with a bonus of enhanced ability to better absorb calcium.
Therefore, talk about prevention of bone loss and the boosting of bone density and you are talking about omega-3, a natural alternative health therapy.
The Lancet featured a clinical study with a finding that patients who routinely took omega-3 fatty acids, reported far less arthritis pain in six months compared to a control group.
Another report, was findings between mental disorders and a severe deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids. Those disorders include depression, the so called attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder(ADHD) for which some authorities want to turm American children into junkies, schizophrenia and anxiety. The Italian clinical study found that patients who supplemented with natural omega-3 for a mere four weeks, achieved improved attention, a far better mood and very improved aptitudes.
Breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Yet another clinical study demonstrated that omega-3’s are able to prevent further progress of breast or prostate cancer by switching off vital molecules needed for cancer cell growth and initializing specific genes that cause cells to die before they become tumors. Patients who supplemented with omega-3’s saw a happy increase of 40% natural cancer-suppressing abilities compared to a placebo group.
Source of dietary omega-3 fatty acids.
The source of the natural omega-3 referenced in this post is an ancient civilization, where it has been used for centuries without any side effects.
In both the Journal of Immunology and the Journal of Biological Chemistry, it is referenced as the most powerful inflammation fighter, it is easy to digest and is absorbed by the body almost instantly. It has the remarkable ability to turn off excess inflammation as if it were a water faucet by restoring the natural ratio of all fatty acids in your entire body. Inflammatory heart disease can now be handled decisively.
It has another remarkable distinction, that of all plants thus far known to the present level of sciences, it has the most complete plant source of both the essential and non-essential amino acids.
This is a power house for the heart, eyes, bones, brain, joints and even raises hdl cholesterol.
Please reader, allow this author to repeat that “for lack of knowledge in truth, the people perish.”……….and that “let your food be your medicine and let your medicine be your food”. And welcome to the realm of Sacha Inchi.
Yes, there will be a link here in due course to the supply of this remarkable omega-3 fatty acids.
