Humans sooner than later become creatures of habit, and it can be hard, not impossible, for some to change from that which has become familiar and not serving any good.

Such are your sleeping habits, and of course nobody has ever taught you proper sleeping positions for the sake of your good health. Has it ever occured to you that you spend almost half of your life in bed?

You may be pleased to know that making a few changes can protect you from the experience of the terrible pain associated with back pain problems, neck stiffness and neck pain, numbness in the shoulders and arms and a lot more.

Sleeping Positions To Avoid Back Pain Problems

Sleeping on your stomach will eventually cause you chronic back pain problems.
Instead switch over and start to sleep either on your back or on any of your sides. Be sure that when sleeping on your side both knees are bent and kept together, and do not throw one leg over your chest or to the side. If it is uncomfortable keeping your knees together, put a small pillow between them. Should you prefer to sleep with one arm under the pillow, be sure that it is fully extended or straightened out, and not bent at the elbow and tied into a knot under the pillow.

If you find it difficult staying off your stomach as a result of habit, start off with a small pillow on each side as a hedge, so that if you start to roll over on your stomach, it will remind you to reposition self back on your back.
