Dangerous Side Effects Of Antidepressant Prescription Drugs.

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It is the newest class of antidepressant drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, SSRIs, that are the worst offenders, with toxic side effects.

You may be surprised to know that prescription antidepressant drugs do not address the root cause of depression at all, rather they tinker around with the depression symptoms by monkeying about with your brain’s use of a natural chemical, serotonin, that is by and large the governor of your mood.

Neurotransmitters.

In a body human at optimum health, a natural neurotransmitter serotonin is secreted by your brain cells responding to stimulii from other parts of your brain, and sent to fill receptors on other cells. Any excess is taken up by your blood plateletes and is needed to assist clotting, while the rest of the excess is reabsorbed (reuptake) by the originating cells.

It is serotonin, the governor of your mood, that makes you feel peaceful, content and calm. The prescription antidepressant drugs function by blocking the natural and normal reabsorption or uptake process causing excess serotonin to keep circulating, hence the calmness, which is artificial at best and you have to become in essence a junkie, hooked on antidepressants to keep that mood up.

Thus far it is obvious that the cause behind the cause is clearly not being addressed at all by prescription antidepressants, keeping you on a merry-go-around that drains your pockets until the cows come home, if ever, and then you are told you have a chronic disease.

Your Nutrition.

Depression is a result of nutritional deficiencies that over time cause an imbalanced brain chemistry of low levels of neurotransmitters and failure of those critical natural mood regulators or governors from being redistributed properly.

Belive it or not most medical professionals know zero about nutrition, therefore to them a very clear nutritional deficiency or a normal bit of change in your mood due to for example relationship difficulties, your team losing or job pressures are all very quickly subjected to risky depressant drugs and now quickly classified as diseases. From Down-Under at the University of New South Wales, Dr. Gordon Parker has this to say about this drug-opportunistic faulty approach, that indeed depression is over-diagonised. Take a look, the audio is in the top right-hand corner, close to the fingers, where it says audio and video. // Audio link not available at this time.//

Already then, instead of covering up the root cause of your depression by monkeying about with the symptoms, why not go to the very source of the problem, by directly providing the clinically proven critical nutrients that are needed by your brain to function properly to naturally regulate your mood by naturally and safely producing and balancing the various levels of all your brain neurotransmitters, namely Serotonin, Gaba, Norepinephrine, Dopamine, Epinephrine and Acetylcholine.

Omega-3 Nutritional Supplement.

DHA Fish Oil Concentrate

There are a number of relevant nutritional supplements at a health store in your neck of the woods, and please reader, quality is of uppermost importance, as these nutritional supplements act as precursors to assist your body to make what is missing and/or that which is too low or provide that which your body has to obtain from nutrition. It is very strongly recommended that you at first consult with a health professional knowledgeable about nutrition, such as a naturopathic physician, particulary IF you are already on prescription drugs, and a list for your area is available from the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians at 703-610-9037

A simple effective nutritional broad approach includes omega-3 fatty acids, choline, folic acid, B-complex, GABA, Vitamin C, CoQ10, if you eat meat be sure to switch to strictly Grass-Fed Beef and organic chickens, SAM-e Plus and evening primrose oil, lentils, leafy green vegetables.

Dangerous Side-Effects.

From Minneapolis, Minnessota at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, comes word of a study of well over 7,350 senior citizens on antidepressants for over six years, who were compared to a group of women not on antidepressants. One of the shocking results was a seventy percent increase in hip-fractures among those on the various antidepressant drugs, because of the impairment of mental faculties and therefore the “accidents” of falling down. Reader, what happened to the civilized precept of “physician!, do no harm”?? Who benefits?.

As already seen above, your blood plateletes are starved for serotonin by the drugs, and according to another research study of senior citizens in the province of Ontario, Canada, the British Medical journal reports that such blood thinning led to a very dangerous condition of upper Gastrointesinal bleeding, with the worst offenders being the recently released antidepressants. There is already a lawsuit against Paxil, a newer antidepressant, because it’s side effects are very severe, and include inducing suicidal tendencies. You could very easily fall from the frying pan into the fire if you are using antidepressants and at same time using other pharma drugs.

Scratching just a liitle under the side-effects, is a very horrible effect, the misnamed serotonin-syndrome, characterised by psychotic episodes. One is left to wonder what exactly is behind a number of terrible public events of the last few years also. Then there is the loss of your libido, tremors, headaches, nausea, insomnia, diarrhea, the list goes on and on, to anxiety and panic attacks, take a look The natural answer to anxiety and panic attacks

You need to take your nutrition by the horns, as it were, and reclaim your good health as nature intended. You are directly responsible for your good health.

Depression, A Symptom Of Nutritional Deficiencies In The Modern Diet.

The core of depression is found in nutritional deficiencies and not in the head. Depression is a symptom of deficiencies in the modern diet.

At Tufts University is an entity, the USDA Human Nutrition Reasearch Center On Aging, whose depression- research study on a large spectrum of the population and published in the Psychotherapy And Psychosomantics Journal, nailed down on the head yet another major deficiency in our diets responsible as a causative factor of depression.

Dear reader, the body human needs a broad spectrum of nutrients to function at optimum, and most of those nutrients are barely present in the modern diet, because of the soil-mining modalities of so-called modern farming and then the foods are processed to death, in effect leaving a product devoid of nutrition, merely keeping you alive but sick.

Your personal responsibility is to learn all you can about genuine nutrition and health, and it is very easy. You can start to power up your nutrition and health right here Staying Healthy With Nutrition, 21st Century Edition: The Complete Guide to Diet & Nutritional Medicine

Without your good health, everything else amonuts to naught, zilich, zero.

Folate(folic acid).

What the research at Tufts University found, was that all human subjects with depression, mild to major, had something in common namely very low serum levels of a nutrient called folate.

From Massachussets, at the Harvard Medical School, a clinical research team took on a group of persistent depression “patients” who were not at all responding to the scary drugs zoloft and prozac. A daily dosage of 2,000 mg of omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA, was administered. By the way reader, EPA is one of the omega-3 fatty acids. You know what? Terrific results happened as a result of administering the EPA. However, this author at the keyboard today at this site is questioning: why the better part of the omega-3’s called DHA was left out. There is no question that had the full omega 3 fatty acids ( both EPA and DHA) been administered, the results would have been faster, awesome and fantastic beyond words to express it. You can check out this DHA Fish oil concentrate

Dr. Andrew Stoll, one of the researchers summed it up to Prevention magazine thusly, “All cell coatings are made of fats, and when those fats are omega-3’s, the serotonin receptors on the surface of the brain-cells seem to function in a healthier way”.

Bingo!

More than fifty percent of the ‘patients” showed a reduction in depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies in a matter of less than eight weeks.

What do you think would have happened if a broad-spectrum nutrients regimen was adapted that included magnesium, high levels of the B-complex vitamin( and includes folate) and of course the omega-3 fatty acids, and not to forget trace-minerals?

Almost all those nutrients are missing in our modern diet.

And here is:How to immediately start to boost your nutrition for better health and your better longevity

There is a missing link here of a powerful revealing interview.

Please do take careful note of paragraph 40 where serotonin is mentioned

Is The Cause Of Depression A Nutritional Deficiency?

Clinical Research Provides Evidence That Nutritional Deficiencies Are The Root Cause Of Depression.

Dr. Ronald Dworkin put it best,”Too many people take drugs when what they really need is to make changes in their lives”.

The year 2005 was a record year for the antidepressant drug business in the USA, in whose interests depression is anything they want it to be, with 118 million prescriptions for antidepressant issued.

Sadly, as you read this those numbers are up, way up.

The perennial question rises, Who benefits?

It is hard to believe that that many people are wasting away and much more harder to believe that antidepressants are the answer.

A clinical research study in Holland, the land of tulips, blood samples from 297 depressed senior citizens were analyzed and compared to analysis results of samples from randomly selected humans. The conclusion was inescapable and led directly to nutritional deficiencies and imbalances, namely that the blood samples of subjects with depression disorders showed a higher ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids.

That is a very unhealthy ratio that surely leads to severe consequences for the body human as already discussed in a previous post on this site. At once, you can see that the cause is dietary deficiency of Omega-3 fatty acids in your nutrition.
The optimal health ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 1:1, with the best ratio being( 0.17 to 1) or 0.17:1

Omega-3 can easily be obtained as a dietary supplement, safe, effective and very affordable, and quality matters a lot.

Across the English channel from mainland Europe to the British Isles, research folks at the Medical School of the University of York. produced clinical evidence, after a study of more than 14,900 humans, that low levels of folate ( available as a nutritional supplement) are directly related to so called chronic depression. In case you have not as yet figured it out, folic acid is part of the B-vitamin complex.

There are many more clinical research studies that will be put forward for your reading about, that prove nutritional deficiency as the cause of depression.

Your life changes therefore ought to include better nutrition, regular exercise as your body allows otherwise always consult a health professional, and then there is the important matter of how you perceive your life, do you like your job, personal relationships and thus and so and the astonishing power of emotions to change your life for the better.
Take a look:The Astonishing Power of Emotions 8-CD set

The core of depression is seated firmly in the absence of good and proper nutrition, and is not to be found in your head. What happens in the head are the symptoms, that are a trailing indicator of nutritional deficiencies, and you can correct those deficiencies safely, quickly and naturally and nutritionally.

Multiple clinical research studies have already proven that natural Omega-3 fatty acids function to improve your mental clarity and brain function, improve your mood and emotional balance.  As a bonus from mother nature, could you believe it, natural omega 3’s also positively protect and improve your cardiovascular health.

Of course reader, you have not heard about these fatty acids in those specific functions, because  they are natural foods and cannot be patented and sold for an arm and a leg, do you see. Once again, it bears repeating that for lack of knowledge in truth, the people perish.

DHEA Health Benefits.

The Health Benefits Of DHEA Supplement Include Alleviating Depression, Menopause Hormonal Balance And Improvement In Insulin Sensitivity.

DHEA is a natural hormone produced by the adrenal glands and declines its presence in the body human as you age. Hormones simply put are delicate operational factors and co-factors and precursors, whose balance has to be fairly precise for the body to operate as nature intended.

Consequently the use of DHEA is better managed via consultation with a health-care professional to avoid possibilities of imbalancing natural body functions.

DHEA has been proven clinically safe to use and here are a number of healthy benefits to its credit, that the alternative health therapies arena could salvite over.

Announcement:

We are a big fan of the basic Simpleology time management and planning materials.

I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. Meanwhile, go grab yours while it’s still free.

End of announcement.

Fat-loss and Insulin Resistance.

In a sudy of human subjects, with very low levels of DHEA and average age of 69, researchers  from the School of Medicine at Washington University, looked at the effects of DHEA on excessive abdominal fat and insulin resistance. Half the group of the 60 subjects were administered a daily dosage of 50mg of DHEA and the rest a placebo.

The results were a significant improvement in insulin sensitivity among the ones taking DHEA, as indicated by the oral glucose tolerance tests, and none in the placebo group.  Furthermore, there was a significant loss of both abdominal fat and the fat around muscles in the DHEA recepients, without any bad side effects. The “fat” part of the study might well be why body builders and some sports people partake  of this stuff from time to time. By the way that clinical research spanned a full six months.

DEPRESSION.

The next area of interest which predictably perhaps,  has been pathologized, and evidence abounds, by those who do not have a  “patient’s” interest at the fore-front. That is the area of something called Depression, which will see a number of posts on this site in due course.

Depression assessment markers were determined prior to a clinical research study, then also midway of the study and at the end. This was carried out by the National Institute Of Health circa 2005, on a group of fifty subjects, with a view to determine the precise effects if any of DHEA on depression. The subjects divided into two groups, with one receiving placebos for the entire time interval of the study. The other group took 90 mg daily which was stepped up to 450 mg daily at the half-time mark of the study.

The results were that the DHEA takers showed significant improvement in all the assessment markers, zilich for the placebo group.

There was at least a fifty percent  improvement in something called  the Hamilton Depression Rating for all the DHEA takers,

and only thirteen humans in the placebo group made the improvement cut.

In conclusion the researchers agreed that DHEA is an effective treatment for mild to moderately severe depression. This writer wonders what stopped the reserchers from addressing full blown depression. Shall we ever know?

MENOPAUSAL Women.

Overseas, in that land of Opera singers and pasta, at the University of Modena in Italy, a group of menopausal women were each administered  a daily dosage of 25 mg DHEA.

The outcome couldn’t be more interesting. Check this out.

There was significant improvement in hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms were rated progressive. In other words menopausal symptoms were indeed alleviated significantly.

Next, progesterone levels almost doubled.

Thirdly, testosterone levels increased nearly four times, ah yes, ladies do need some of that too. You will simply not believe the overall good feeling and the jump in your sensual responsiveness as a woman, that you get with an increase in your testosterone levels. Women over 45 years need to pay very close attention to this paragraph, because this also alleviates many of the bothersome menopausal symptoms. Many true health professionals were astonished at these repeatable results, and authors at this site have found, that this has been known for a number of years and the knowledge simply sat upon.

It will serve you best if we can provide a hyper-link to a clinical study and resources to safely and easily pursue more info. That link will be here very shortly.

Fourthly, estrogen levels increased by four times what they were at the start.

Fifthly, this author stands corrected, pasta is originally from China and popularized in Italy by one of it’s explorers, most probably Marco Polo.

Dangerous Side Effects Of Cholesterol Lowering Statin Drugs.

A peep at the very scary side effects of cholesterol lowering statin medications, particulary that widely prescribed class of drugs known as  statin drugs on the health body human.

 Statin drugs as  band-aids.

The  so called cholesterol statin drugs lower cholesterol by limiting it’s production in the liver. That is not the smart thing to do, regardless of what criteria you consult, because it does not at all address the root cause or causative factors of high ldl cholesterol.

That action is the equivalent of  a warning light on your vehicle dashboard, prompting you to approach a mechanic. The mechanic proceeds to cut the wire or short-circuit it, causing the warning light to be off. The machanic then explains problem solved, because the light is no longer on.

Who Benefits?.

Once again reader, you can see the why of the repeated melody at this site, “For lack of knowledge in truth, the people perish.” It might well be that keeping someone ignorant of the relevant facts is a very lucrative undertaking indeed.

A reasonable mind even at a glance could not agree more. Centuries ago, the most respected Roman statesman, Cicero, would have reasoned by floating a timeless and very sharp question– Cui Bono? Who benefits?.

(Where are the Ciceros of today? Have nutritional deficiencies robbed the nations of true statesmen and stateswomen?.)

An ex-Astronaut and NASA physician spills the beans.

You reader and the authors at this site have been blessed with a very profound and only answer possible, from no less than a giant of a respectable man, that beautifully and firmly wears the admirable hats as an ex-astronaut, a NASA medical doctor-oooh brother, oooh brother!  Now we are talking and talking big with substance.

Should we shout this from the roof tops and from the mountain tops? You bet you!.

Ex-astronaut, Duane Graveline,MD, MPH., is a also a medical research scientist and  an author who has spilled the stinking beans, so to speak, about the cholesterol statin drugs that include the brand names lipitor, mevacor, prevastatin, lescol, pravachol, zocor and baycol which is on record as responsible for many deaths.

Side-effects are deadly

Clinical trials have dutifully documented the very dangerous side-effects of cholesterol lowering statin drugs, just one of which is memory lapses.

It gets worse, as numerous cases have been clinically documented in which  memory is completely lost and gone, for time-intervals of several minutes to several hours. That is known as total global amnesia(TGA). Please reader, go back and read those two most previous sentences again.

You are now going to be introduced to one man’s battle with TGA in detail. That man is of course Dr. Duane Graveline, a medical physician and ex-astronaut who fell victim to the dangerous side-effects of statin drugs.

Following a mere few weeks of using prescribed statin drugs, Dr. Graveline could not at times recognize his children or his wife.

Imagine that for a moment. Very very dangerous.

Being a medical research scientist, he very quickly surmised that statin drugs were the culprit and cause and promptly threw them out. He then relates that his “good” doctor, later encouraged him to resume the statin regimen.  Hours shortly after restarting, —–  Dr. Graveline suffered a very bad TGA(total global amnesia) and understand this, his entire memory simply vanished for almost twelve hours.

Do you see why it becomes imperative to always seek an informed professional second opinion including accessing clinically proven alternative healthy therapies for the body human. Accordingly you have a direct responsibility to continually educate self about good healthy nutrition. For an easy start you may take a look at,
The World’s Healthiest Foods, Essential Guide for the Healthiest Way of Eating

It has been touched upon in a previous post, that among the many dangerous side effects of statin drugs is that they deplete  your body tissues of the very critical nutrient CoQ10, thus setting you up for a deadly cardiovascular event. In addition cholesterol statin drugs cause muscle deterioration and even fatal muscle breakdown. Remember your heart is also a muscle.

With no side effects, reduces the bad LDL, raises the good HDL and it promotes your well being, you be the judge, PoliCholest-Cuts your bad cholesterol by 15%! It is yours now.

Dr. Graveline’s experience of memory loss appeared in a syndicated newspaper column, to which hundreds responded by sharing the scary memory loss experiences as a result of use of  prescribed statin cholesterol drugs. That prompted Dr. Graveline to start an investigation and documenting TGA cases, and here is his book and advice: Lipitor, Thief of Memory
Lipitor Thief of Memory

and a lot more.
